The Eel’s irises flicker before me, it’s teeth drooling with the hunger for more. All I can feel is the ramped beating of my heart against the numbness of my ribs. Will it be solely Lucifer to return Home? What will Joffrey do in response? Fear pools into my eyes as I stare at the beast. Then suddenly… “Get the hell away from her!” Nearly sings my bones back to life, while the Eel’s faces contorts in pain & he slithers over to a new victim to feast upon.

Tears spring past my eyes, to join the salty liquid of our surroundings. Automatically one of my arms encircle around Lucifer, as the other remains clutching the gash seeping out the blood needed for the youngster. My entire body continues to rattle in fear, though I still maintain a hefty grasp upon my Savior. “Thank…you.” Gratitude pools from my tongue, something that I never give. But i’d give anything for him.

Still the battle has not faded, as the threats swim towards are fellow alliances. “I’m fine… I can do this.” I reassure him, preparing the fist clasping my rock to not crumble as my heart is. I must be strong, just as I witness from Lucifer.

Lucifer ~ District Four Male

    Its not something I can explain, the way the world sort of... vanished. One moment I'm amidst a fight with my fellow runners and the next I'm gone. All I know is my trident is so deeply buried in the back of a beast I shouldn't be able to pull it out... but I do with ease. The rest is a blur until she's in my arms, alive, in my arms. Its almost too easy to bury my face in her shoulder while letting her cry. I hate to see her crying but as long as its with me here I don't care. Its then that it clicks, I don't want to die for her. I want to live with her.

    The moment she releases me from the embrace I feel empowered. I can't allow for anything, human, or not to stand or swim between me and achieving my desires. It might just be a dream but I am determined to make it a reality beyond this dimension of death. I smile for a second as her while she reassures herself. "I know you can." Are all the words I need before I swim forward myself with new fire in my eyes. I'm not Joffrey's servant, I am Lyra's for eternity even if its veiled in secrecy.

Masilee Amoria ~ District Five Female

    An end to the frigid fighting frees me of my severe suffering. For now I have found a sense to secure within the sanctuary of my mind. I can live my life as though a butterfly born again from metamorphosis. Blood may have branded my name and stained my hair a deeper red but if it meant a chance to see the light in my Brother's eyes again it was worth it. At least for this minor moment I am okay with convincing myself that my Brother's life is worth all the others', and to me it actually is.

Agreement licks past his lips, and I feel empowered. If he believes, then I know it must be true. And surely it becomes so as the Eel wails from the force of my Rock. My other hand continues to guard my Stomach, to not fail as I had miserably a minute before. My eyes drift over to the one who’s providing me with this strength, and my eyes glisten with admiration. In one easy strive, another Eel cries to the depths of the Ocean because of Lucifer, while pride seems to replenish the blood that I’m lacking.

He never treated me as Joffrey has. Pure beauty reflects me in the mirror, when it’s his words fluttering within my senses. This is why I sought his Chambers, when both mental or physical torture plagued me on certain nights. There was never comfort to seek from Joffrey, while upon Lucifer so much resides - along with so much more. Joffrey crafted a dark soul within me, while Lucifer only glistens the rays of light.

The last Eel quivers to death, and more tears collapse from my eyes - not from sorrow, but from relief that we’re both still alive. But is our third Soul still beating? The tears transfer to a new reason. Again my clasp finds Lucifer’s to hold. “Our..” A cough rumbles through my throat. “The baby… Lucifer, I’m so scared.” But remaining here will do him or her no good, and with a desire for secure shelter we’re off to discover a hopefully temporary haven.

    My worry never wanes until the last scale slithers down into the depths of the deep, only then do I breathe. I then hold my breath again as I am by Lyra's weeping side. Surely the hormones of her pregnancy have produced such uncharacteristic appearances of water so I let them slide as I hold her hand. I even avoid wincing at her slip of words while I gently release my grip from her hold. "He's fine trust me, if he is anything like his Mother nothing can kill him." I pull myself close to her wound as I inspect its infliction, a relieved sigh spins from my mouth. "The wound isn't nearly as deep as it looks just bloody. Keep a hand on it and I'll stitch it up once we've settled for the night."

    My stare returns to the sea of her irises and how they illuminate with pure happiness. As long as her child was safe she was happy, and as long as she was happy I could manage. A smile pulls at my lips, its how it always has been after all. "Oh and I don't know if its a boy, but I do. I've got pretty good instincts after all."
