The amount of trees thicken even further as the path carries on. Eventually scarcely any space even remains between nature’s trunks. A weaving mini-maze is discovered within this chaotic massive one. Do the Runner’s dare to go through it to reach closer to the Final Hallway, or risk venturing back & wasting more time?

Task: Runners must decide to either go forward into the mini-maze, or venture back. If they decide to go through it, they must roll a 1-10 to see if they notice the new trail of breadcrumbs. {Alliances are allowed to break if they decide differently. Also if only some Runner do notice the breadcrumbs, it's up to them if they tell the others or not ~ which would determine if the others see the breadcrumbs or not. Noticing the Breadcrumbs increases better odds in future rolls for this thread. Also should any fighting occur in order to not randomly roll because of the darkness you must have a flashlight with at least one battery.}

    It never falls beneath some dark destination, never closes its gutting glare. From above the eye of a world watching wears down upon each soul standing within its devilish domain. Defiance draws in my unwavering watching of what watches each move we make, each drop of blood we lose. The Maze Makers truly picked a masterful color for their monstrous mirage, still.. There is no denying the fact that time seems torn from any touch of this dimension's existence. Only one thing will allow for our knowledge of such a thing as finely tuned as time, the anthems which will wail while the sun sets in a forgotten city beyond the buzzing of our circular cell. Funny how such a place so far from slaughter still shackles us to its reality's regulations. 

    Somewhere between high moon and its second spot while rising I find myself venturing into my dark depths. I recall the victories of the day drawn from the stolen scarlet of those whom were defeated, even in my dreams I hold not a drop of regret of doubt. Fire funnels from my hands charring corpses already created by my brutal blade. Laughter lifts from my lips at a sight as settling as the day my parents perished by my palms as well. The sweet second of happiness I am embracing is stolen by the sounds which string us still to a sinful city unable to be reached. The anthem.

    Eyes search segments of the sky scanning stars for any shimmer of faces fallen in the war, they do not come. Something else does instead. Fog fills the forest and my hand lifts the base of my blade, a shadow stirs from above. Steal swings through vapor but cannot cut that which has already been beaten out of life, the girl from two glares before adventuring off further into the fog. Grit grinds my teeth, talk about a gruesome anthem. 

    Silence suffocates me while I watch the walking dead wander away, my victim merely runs without words. A smile spills across my cheeks as she goes, I'm glad you're dead. My fingers fall across the cold curves of my brilliantly blinding blade while laying a kiss across its sweet surface. "Who's soul shall you steal next?" Illumination ignites within my irises. "Soulstealer. Now that's a name fitting for a murderer." Sleep comes all to easy after such an exchange. 

    Wailing winds soon rush ripples of gusts against my furrowed face. With the rise of the yellow watcher pure darkness and wicked winds have become my existence. Above the howling horses of the gallant gusts I am able to barely breach the sounds of my allies steps beside me. Something suddenly comes to my realization while the actual forest forces itself around us. "Guys, the breadcrumbs are gone. Now what the hell are we supposed to do?" Irritation aggravates my shuddering skin from the cruel cold. "I'm going to look for them, I could use some help considering its beyond black out here."

    A sudden sensation familiar to that which I've felt beneath my fingers before spurs shouts to the souls I've made my allies in this adventure of death. "Hey over here! I found them again!"

    Darkness combs across the atmosphere of the environment. It’s internally relieving to avoid the potential judging eyes from gazing at my murderous exterior, while anxiety riddles everything else from the physical blindness of this condition. At any moment the Maze may strike against us without forewarning, or the trust of the alliance can shatter if one attempts to destroy future threats within this black depths of offering betrayal. Sight of the future may not be predictable, which cradles as a blessing and a curse. But for a moment the light of the past appears, as dead Runners project across the dark land.

There’s not a single desire to gaze at any of them, with the knowledge eventually it’d be that little Boy’s face reflecting back from them. Vision stares in the hologram’s direction though past them, fooling any audiences that may be observing to believe I’m viciously watching the aftermath of my destruction. Not a single glimpse of him actually plagues my attention. And fortunately, rather quickly, the darkness falls once more upon us. There’s no, even vaguely, assuming the time of this place.

Slumber seems to coax my fellow team members, though there’s no telling that for certain. My sight seeks adjusting to the darkness, craving to just partially see, but even verifying closed eyelids is impossible. Shuteye refuses to grace me however, as his innocent face permanently tattoos the back of my own eyelids. Identical darkness may greet me within the realm of being awake, but at least he’s not here to torture me as well. Sleep can wait until tomorrow night.

Within the assumed morning, we travel further down the decrepit path. Blindness still carries us with every step. But at least trust thickens with the absence of unforgiving treason. The breadcrumbs leading the journey are softly scattering with the violent winds, while the thick trees ensure we’re following where the Maze-Makers wish for us to go. Hazily I’m capable of identifying the location they’ve wished to place us in - a petite maze within this massive one.

The voice of Salem breaks through the blackness, with wisdom of looking for the breadcrumbs to guide us through this obstacle. It seems impossible to find any such thing within this lightless abyss; but before I’m even able to begin the search, success is discovered. “Who’s up for a miniature version of the Maze then?” A joke attempts to seep from my tongue, and rid of the gloominess craving to overtake me. Perhaps this’ll be enjoyable, at least it’s not another battle. “Let’s all stay close though.” Is suggested, even while Lightning’s words continue to replay in my head on not trusting anyone. For now I’m desperate to place my faith into others.

    On a normal basis, sunlight would filter past the clouds as one day concluded and another began, but not this time. The moon continued to shine bright, no other natural light to be seen. The District One runner wasn't frightened of darkness, however. She actually quite liked it, as it reminded her of the late nights at home, which seemed to be the only times she could truly relax. It was always hard for her to chill out during the day, as her mind would race whenever she saw her family. ever since the death of her brother Angelo.

    She could remember the day Angelo died rather vividly. When she was at home with only her brothers, Ben and Angelo, her parents were out running errands. From her room, she could hear what sounded like play-fighting between the two boys. Unfortunately, the fighting was more than just joking around, and it went too far. Ben was hitting Angelo, and ended up slamming his head quite hard on the floor, then causing him to tumble down the stairs. This was when Lorenza came running out of her bedroom upon hearing Ben's scream. He was screaming and sobbing over Angelo's no longer moving body. Angelo was dead.

    Shaking the thought from her head, Lorenza snapped back into reality. She tried to focus on what the others were saying and doing, but that was difficult. Her head was spinning and she couldn't see much of anything with how dark it was. Salem had pointed out a new trail of breadcrumbs on the ground, and Lorenza started to pay better attention to what was going on. Kaydence said they should all stay close, and the District One girl nodded, despite no one being able to see it.

    "Alright, yeah. I'll tag along. Don't lose each other," Lorenza said to her allies.

    An awkward tone intertwines through the darkening atmosphere. The team’s softly beginning to crumble, whether mentally or physically. Silence carries the likes of Kaydence, who’s scarcely the quiet type. Sorrow seems to be inching from the core of Lorenza, who’s often as social as the little Blonde. Insanity appears to be seeping from Salem’s being, though he may have always internally been as such. And Chance has been licked with a permanent cripple due to yesterday’s Dragons. The curse of the Maze is tattooing across all of our skins already, and it’s only day two.

Fortunately the chance of a potential distraction combs across our possibilities. It’s vague to see, but the gloomy hue of green startles our path. The guidance of crumbs have broken, which Salem instantly seeks to find once more. And before I’m even able to calculate exactly what we have in store, the search comes to a rewarding conclusion. Kaydence speaks of it being a mini-maze, and sticking together - which instantly glides a grin across my greedy lips. It may not be a battle in which my skills can be illustrated, but it radiates entertainment nonetheless.

“Sounds like fun to me. One step closer to the end of this.” In which only one of us may breach from, though I don’t dare to mention such. For the moments we still pertain, might as well enjoy the sea of the living. Only one may retreat from this nightmare; while even for that lucky Soul, the nightmare will never truly leave them. Already the scars of this chamber is sketching across us.

    Pain no longer hindered him. Instead, it was the fact that him volunteering for the young boy has suddenly brought upon him a hindrance all its own. He could no longer walk and his back had this permanent fuzzy tingle that only annoyed him. Numbness took over from his hips to his nuts and below. Any wounds that he incurred only added to the hideous visual but caused none of the agony.

"Guess, I won't have to worry about hitting my head on anything from this level." He joked, hoping to keep his positive attitude somewhere when his forecast for life was clouded. He crawled with his arms, pulling his body behind him, his chest heaving with the effort in the darkness that shrouded them.

"We need light guys. Anyone have a flashlight?"

Outcome heightens for the better with the discovery of the breadcrumbs, and the generosity of a Runner sharing this discovery with his fellow alliance. Though safety and security is never a guarantee within a Maze, which is surely a certain. And now potential skills may be immediately tested; as though the discovery of these breadcrumbs may improve chances - it’s still chances looming. Will they prove themselves within this trial? It’s time to tell.

    Ears remain perched in concentration, vigorous in the determination to remain with my alliance. The brutal winds settle to a tolerable tone within the barriers of the hedges, though blindness still carries us all. There’s an urge to clasp my fingers around the security of my team, but my prideful independence contains them in clenched fists at my side. “Think there’s any chance a light will be at the end of this tunnel?” Sarcasm humors from my rusty vocals, my voice scratching against my throat in desperation to escape from the torment of what I did yesterday. What will my Siblings think of my performance? Surely they’ll be proud I’m breaching to survival, but still they must know I subtly stepping towards being yet another Monster our Family’s already drowning within. If only I can strive to the end of this, to truly receive their new opinions of me.

As the alliance Lorenza was a part of made its way through the miniature maze that had ended up in front of them, she tried her best to keep up with the others. Za-Za was a better runner than many people she knew, so she suspected that she'd be just fine. She followed the voices and footsteps of the others as she went. Keeping a steady pace, she also made sure that she didn't run into any walls. After all, that would just be embarrassing.

"We can make it through, everyone!" Za-Za said to the others. She just had to make sure she believed that, too.

    There’s certain excitement that seeps through my core at the chance for this challenge. Surely a battle is to be expected within a Maze ~ but the wicked additions that the Maze-Makers craft are surely just as enjoyable. A voice seeps to my ears before we fully embrace ourselves within this test however, from Chance requesting a light source. “I think all of us only have torches or lanterns. And any flame would go out in this violent breeze.” The unfortunate news is delivered; though at least Career Training did not solely teach me the mechanism of fighting, but also when not to waste a precious item. Cautiously I step into the depths of this optional obstacle, going slowly as to not leave behind our crippled Companion.

“Za-Za?” I call out for, hearing her running steps pattering off into the distance - away from us.

Chance heard her voice, and the voices of the rest of his group, but the breadcrumbs were small, however he could feel them in the darkness. He pulled himself further through the maze, wandering aimlessly trying to keep with up with his group. It wasn't hard though considering that he could feel when the crumbs went off into another direction. He couldn't fall away from them.

"Think they'll be an ugly witch at the end of the light of the tunnel, Kaydence?" He followed her joke and chuckled himself. The numbness spreading like wildfire causing the tingle to become more harrowing for him.

"Zaza? Where are you? You're voice is going away."

Within the abyss of miles away, laughter is cackling from the Maze-Makers crafting the scene - though this can not be heard by the Alliance who is now split within their creation. The breeze from above the hedges nearly sings of their chuckles. Security has been proven to not be a promised component, while now safety is dwindling amongst the mist of curiosity. Though a battle against a fellow breather is not present, does this mean the luxury of invulnerability accompany the Runners? It’s time to tell.

    Although the dark breaches my sense of stability I never lose track of the methodical trail created for me. Why were they breadcrumbs? Maybe to have us following in the paths of some bread loving Griever, but still I know our future lies uncertain. If only I was able to posses the abilities of a Seer in addition to my own, then I'd truly be unstoppable. 

    For a while everything is going fine, but that's never how the story goes. Somewhere within the depths of this mini maze Lorenza vanishes from our side, not even our voices can secure her position. "Well this is great." I mutter still maneuvering forward. "We can't wait for her, we just have to hope we'll all meet up again outside of this mini maze. Let's trust her on this one."

    The scent of Lorenza’s speedy footsteps is softly dancing off into the distance. Two call out for her, their pitches craving for her return. Salem speaks on how there’s nothing we can do, but hope to see her on the other side of this miniature maze - and I have to agree with him on that one. These weaving, blind paths are difficult enough. It’s best to strive for exit from these towering hedges, and reunite together afterwards. That’s surely what Lightning would advice me to do. With only one Runner permitted to haven from this place, all must only hold concern in themselves.

A smile forces itself across my lips from Chance’s previous words. “If something is at the end of this, I’m sure we can take it.” It’s purely confidence that responds to him, rather then a second layer of humor. But nothing replies to me in return, and I notice the lack of his crawling scratches beside us. “Fuck! I think we lost Chance to! Lorenza might be able to get through this by herself, but Chance might need our help…” Worry riddles through my throat, though I don’t hesitate on retreating back immediately. Lightning would want me to concentrate on myself, and not the likes of a cripple who can scarcely assist in protecting. Though still I pause for a moment is consideration on what I should do…
