Lightning Aqua
The storm quells on the cacophony of cheering citizens. Intense illumination engulf's the sky above the glittering glass city already fallen into the veil of night. Twelve braziers burn brightly untouched by the terrible tortures he who shares the names name of Victor and Maze Maker knows are coming. Soon smoke of extinguishing flames followed by shouts of sorrow or excitement will plague the paths of the Capitol. Late night news sits solely on the shoulders of Flickermen and Claudius rallying the already rampant crowd of Capitolites at the city's center. Images of old Mazes mix with the setting for this stage, a night of uncontrollable eagerness for them and a night of hellish horrors for those sleeping in the Training Center several streets away.
Meanwhile Lightning is with his sister in the heart of hell walled in by endless waves of white. A variety of videos engulf the entirety of the monitors as final checks and procedures begin. Chaos barks brutally at several lessers and soon holograms of hideous and horrible beasts stand before the eyes of the room. It's all too much, the weight, Tempest with Graham and Crys back at the Training Center, the knowing of what will fall over the heads of the children they are going to be responsible for killing. There is something different about killing for survival and killing to give a corrupted country pleasure.
Silence surrounds Lightning in a drastic contrast to the room he was just in as he enters his private office in the back of the Control Center. Hands together rest atop his crown of brilliant blonde before a sudden surge of motion sends the lamp on the desk across the room. Glass shatters and a sound loud and far from normal in this area echoes through the chamber. Tears that will not fall well in seas inside Lightning's eyes. First his soul shattered in the death of his shining little sister. Now his heart in peril for the dangers his love and his baby will face. The suffocation of being his own family's executioner distracts him so much he hardly notices his sister stepping slowly into the room.
Her eyes hover at the harsh scene of the broken lamp before turning to him with complete worry and understanding. She holds him in a hug for only a moment before telling him to go, to be with her for the night while he can. He doesn't hesitate to grab his coat and flee from the Center which will be his existence in only eight hours from now. But for tonight what he needs is his son in his arms and his love's head on his chest as she struggles to find safety in sleep.
When morning comes and Lightning is finally stirred from slumber his eyes fall on Crys' captivating locks of lovely dark hair. His lips press soft against the silk of her skin as he shuffles slightly stepping out of the bed. Her eyes open and instantly ignite love and fear within the fires of his core at their perfect radiating beauty. His hand follows the curves of her cheeks before pressing another kiss subtly on the hills of her lips. He hates how every part of this feels like goodbye.
"Stay alive for me. For us."
Life seems distorted as the buildings blur past in the short car ride back to the Control Center. Graham still sleeps in his solemn Father's arms unaware of where his Mother is heading. Tempest sits in silence by Lightning's side as well without words to say at such a severe situation. The only exchange between the two siblings is the passing of Graham to her hands from his when they enter the highly sentinel secured doors of the center. After that they head their separate ways, her to a private viewing room with Graham and he heads to hell.
A change of attire happens along the hall as soon blue suit with teal accents covers Lightning's figure. In a moment of acceptance he pushes forward the double doors and walks down the stairs into the thunderdome. Fingers flick all around him as words whip and checks are calculated. Now there is less than an hour until the beginning. Lightning turns to his assistant asking for his sister and she responds quickly.
"The private office, she went in to get a little bit of sleep about two hours ago."
He nods walking away and into the quiet of the office. Surely enough a wall as revealed a bed and in its center his sister sleeps as unready for this day as he is. His hands give her a soft shake sentencing her presence in this world and not the one of her dreams. Explanation is irrelevant as he squeezes her hands before walking back out into the main area. Minutes later in a short dress matching his own suit she follows taking her place beside him at the helm of their cruel creation.
An hour becomes minutes as confirmation of each Runner entering their tubes echoes from a nearby Maze Maker. They begin to rise. Seconds pass, a minute passes, suddenly there's light. The Maze, an island, is revealed to the world. A countdown begins. Lightning looks towards his sister by his side and lets his words hold the strength he only wishes he actually had.
"Let's do this."

Chaos Aqua
Letters form into words of sloppy writing upon a paper, as my hatred is directed towards a message for our lovely Leader. “Why did she make me a Maze-Maker in the first place, if she’s just going to alter all my decisions?” Is questioned furiously - while internally I’m cursing her out far more violently. “Shouldn’t she be fucken busy, I don’t know, running the damn Panem?” The note snatches away from the messenger’s, before being balled up and thrown into a nearby thrash. Lightning’s safety is on the line - along with Runner’s, who Lail would all see die if given the chance. A breath must be taken, even if I’d rather lose it entirely.
Eyes from gaze out of the captivation of malicious ways I can outsmart the President. My stare gazes around the room at the workers who are nodding off due to my command of long hours, though it’s not them I’m searching for. “Did Lightning already leave to be with Crys?” Wonders allowed before a jostle of a collision from his secluded room alerts me of my answer. “Right.” A break from Maze-Making is understood by all without another word, as I return to my original job of being a sister.
Not a moment is wasted before I’m enveloping him in a hug that no longer solves anything. Years prior just an embrace with wipe away the salty droplets upon a sibling’s face, and craft a smile across their cheeks… that’s when things were still simple…ish. Arms don’t even remain around him for long, as there’s somewhere else he surely needs to be. “Go be with her.” Suggests from my lips, though there’s no doubt that’s exactly what he was planning to do. And while he’s off to achieve a far more vital role, I return to the conquer of our distasteful task of being an disobedient maze-maker.
A shake startles me from my lengthy doze, as scattered papers push from around the bed in rejection of awaking. “I’m not going to school, Lightning.” Jokes from my lips in hunger to lighten this morning, and pull back to a memory of when we weren’t even selected for our own Maze. For the briefest moment my head buries back into a pillow, craving to return back to those days of simplicity. “I know, I know.” Is mumbled in prevention of LIghtning’s scolding, before I force myself from the bed I was simply going to rest in while completing more work. Unorganized papers settle into a random stack, as a fogginess cries for me to return back to sleep. “Maybe I should have gone to Maze-Making school though.” A sarcastic laugh mutters at myself in self-hatred.
Checks are confirmed, and Runners accounted for. Would Lightning & I’s struggle to offer the best be successful, or is ultimate death unavoidable? Solely the future may tell, and soon at that - as the craft of our miniature island claims the start of it all, and presents itself willingly in all it’s glory. Eyes refuse to stare at the screen of the Runners, not wanting to jinx any with my prediction of their fate. Approval of the start booms in a whisper from Lightning’s lips, as I remain speechless in return. Purely a nod gifts my acceptance of it’s occurrence.
Welcome Runners to the 48th Maze Running!
This Running will be run by Head Maze Makers Arrow and cameo . All rules and regulations have and/or will be posted in the 48th Maze Running Information. If there are any questions or concerns please feel free to message me at anytime. Other than that please have fun and read the following Bloodbath regulations below.
Directional Options For Fleeing
Brown Boats -- Green Boats -- Blue Boats -- Silver Boats -- Red Boats
Bloodbath Rules/Regulations
1) Each Runner must post an intro in which all they have for their actions is their character entering the Bloodbath. No attacks are permitted in these posts.
2) The first attack by every Runner must be unarmed since they acquire their items in the order of the randomized lists they are given(in numerical order). Therefore in their first unarmed attack they grab their weapon as stated in their list.
3) Each Runner can only be attacked a total of 5 times between each of their posts.
4) A Runner can flee the Bloodbath at anytime following their intro, however, they must have assistance fleeing when any leg/foot bone is broken, a leg/foot is severed, arm is broken, or arm is severed. This being said, even if an ally says they assist a Runner in fleeing that Runner may be attacked until they actually post their own flee. Think of it this way, the Runners would be vulnerable running away injured so badly.
5) The Wealth is won when only a single alliance or Runner remains in the Bloodbath. All unclaimed items become part of the wealth.
6) There is no death cap for the amount of Runners that can die in the Bloodbath.
If any of these rules/regulations are broken 30 damage will be added to the Runner breaking said rules/regulations.
