Frozen Over Radioactive Lake

    Snowflakes continue to fall from the sky as the gates now loom open from the center. To the South the winds seem to flow through less swiftly and the snow appears to be falling lighter. However, for those who venture down this passage soon discover the weather here is exactly as bad as the rest of the Maze. Only the landscape these Runners find themselves within as the center fades away behind them is a looming lake frozen over by frost and ice. However, the most shocking feature of this lake is without a doubt its brightly colored waters. Worry of radiation clearly should be on Runners' minds as the passage produced by thick snow walls forces them across the lake. Whatever horrors they are being pushed towards most likely bring with them the pain of misery and despair. Too bad there is no turning back in the Maze.

Welcome Draco, Rena, Phenix, and Brooklyn!
As you selected you have entered the Southern Passage and have come across your first area in the Maze. A frozen radioactive lake filled with unknown demons lurking beneath the thin surface, including the ones you will soon be fighting.  Please note the rest of your Maze Running journey will take place entirely in this board. Only will you be permitted to post in a new thread for the following reasons: Death Posts/Threads,  and/or the Final Hallway{Maze Makers will start this one}.

Task Number One
About a quarter of the way across the massive lake several meters ahead of you two spouts of shimmering water exploded through the ice sending cracks rippling across the ice. As the water settles two Snow Serpents stand before you within their fangs bared and ready to strike. Good luck Runners and may the odds be ever in your favor!

Snow Serpents 

    The waters flowed in icy tandem around their shimmering white scales. Schools of lesser beings swim and swerve for safety as the two majestic beings swam through the depths. Above them the crackling sound of footsteps signaled the arrival of their prey. From the deep below the two had been freed as the guardians of this lake. Nagi and Rancor two large serpents of snowy white color destined to defend this frozen land of radiation with their final breaths. Now they were being tested by intruders to their territory. The water shifted suddenly as the two forced their way through the icy surface and into the bleak light of a far off sun. Before them the Runner's stood as though they were prepared for battle. Nagi and Rancor alike would show them how unprepared they truly were within their waters.

District One Male

    Morning dawns with a new threat literally creaking into existence as the vast Maze is finally open to us all. The remaining thirteen runners. Already so much death had plagued this frozen land of radiation yet an end seemed no where in sight. Confidence was dealt in spades to my allies but it ran low within my own system. Each of them seemed certain of survival and I couldn't shake the feeling that death was constantly lurking just behind us. Little did I know it was actually lurking beneath us.

    Shortly after venturing into the Southern Passageway along with the others we come across one hell of an odd lark. The waters swirl with an unnatural sign which has us question the use of our radiation suits. Sadly time is not on our side as I am sent spiraling to the ground while two Grievers' arise from the watery depths. Shouts explode from my allies lips but I don't have any time to reply before a fang drives into my back. With fear I wait expecting the pain to flow through me, but it never does. Relief clutters my thoughts as I realize my chest plate took the blunt of the violent attack. 

    Shakily I rise back to my feet as I let the now useless vest fall to the frozen floor. In my hand my sword feels heavy but I know hesitation isn't an option. Survival came first, feeling came second in this world.

Rena Foster ~ District One 

The slippery terrain of a frozen lake welcomes us to the new day, with a breathtaking Sun rise. Capturing balance is difficult, while the view is beyond worthy. Back at home Skates would glide us upon this desired substance with ease. But within a Maze, nothing comes with the qualification of easy. But as illuminating colors shine beneath our feet, there's no room to complain...that is until a slivering creatures glides past the hypnotizing allusion beneath the clear layer shielding the unforgiving water. 

Unexpectedly the ice breaks, and threatening Grievers breach the openings. The risk is clear, along with the opponents. One dodges for me, with no success following his attempt. Might as well target the true danger. And without a second thought my Weapon strives for the beast that had stabbed Draco in the back...literally. "Haven't had enough, Makers?" I taunt, with a strong will to outsmart them.

Phenix Grace 
District Two Male

    Adrenaline rises in my blood just as the rising sun over the snowy slopes. My feet carry me quickly by my allies' sides as we traverse the weird landscape surrounding us. The waters below us contain eerie glows of radiation and I can't help but wonder what lies beneath the frozen surface. Unfortunately my question is answered as two hideous Grievers erupt from the icy waters. A surge of determination to prove my worth as a career triggers within my mind while my words pierce the air. "Look out everyone! These things don't seem like the type of Grivers to give us any kind of help!" And sure enough my prediction holds true as they decimate our defenses swiftly. 

    Snow spins around me as one of the beast's powerful tails slams into my head. Pain throbs within my temples as I steady the spear in my palms. Panem was watching, expecting us, me, to show off our power once again. I couldn't just stand here and let my reputation be slaughtered. So with a hardy laugh I push through the pain and towards the nearest snake. My time was now and I wasn't going to be disappointed again like in the bloodbath.

Brooklyn Pryce ~ District Two 

Since I can remember the frozen crisp of water has accepted my being. Skates aren't required to gain the graceful balance upon the slippery landscape. With great ease I glide across the terrain with an innocent grin plaguing my enjoyment. Sure death may be controlling this Maze just as it annually does, but entertainment is the key to this spectacular demise. And with uncertainty determining our future, the only control is the present. 

Undesired creatures snake past our preferred perspective below our feet; this is the last location a threat is preferred from. Anxiety ruptures my petite body, while adrenaline for a fight overcomes such even more so. My bow raises in preparation for the dangers to come, just as the beasts rupture through the ice. Fangs and tails whip towards us with critical intentions, and revenge must be sought for. Instinct maintains the reigns, and my weapon sways towards demolishing our threat.

Snow Serpents 

    Waters ran red with blood from each of the clashing warriors. Labored breaths rippled through Nagi's long and now slashed body. Lights scattered within her vision as the intruders darted like deadly mice around her. Rancor could sense his fellow guardian's life slipping yet he couldn't aid her for his own was declining as well. Their lake was in danger of falling into the darkness of deadly hands. Together the two of them had been raised and now fought together to defend what was theirs'. Death was looming but the two of them refused to let their home be corrupted so easily.

Draco Spinix
District One Male

    Blood drew blood as it rained from every surface of skin in the span of at least a mile. Death was calling for its next occupants. Two beasts deemed with the duty of extermination or four Runners vying for crowns. Dawn only seemed minutes ago yet now I find myself caught within a whirl wind of pain as the beast slices into my skin. Blood drowns my eye sight as shudders from fear return to my once relaxed composure. I am not ready to die, yet death seems so eager to have me. Constantly I am fighting an uphill battle which in turn is suppose to make me stronger. However, as red literally becomes my vision all I feel is weaker. My allies need me and here I am being a damsel in distress. I am suppose to be a career yet I am weaker than the girl from two. I need to step up. I have to, its either do that or die and one option sure as hell is better than the other.

"Don't look so down about yourself. You just killed one, chin up." I grin towards Draco before returning my attention back to our final beast for this current event...hopefully. "And thank you for having the decency to go gentle on us females. Figured you capitol crafted Grievers didn't posses that sort of thing. Still, it's insulting." With that my Weapon slices the atmosphere, and towards our undesired company.

Phenix Grace 
District Two Male

    A sorrowful screech erupts from one of the snake's throats as blood spills in large amounts from its wounds. More cracks explode around us as the beast falls with a slam onto the ice. A feeling of victory feels my veins as I can feel my strength, along with my allies', increasing. We all could survive another minute if I finally do what I know I'm capable of. I have the power within me to end this fight and all it takes is me unleashing it. So I wait until Rena clears a path for me towards the beast. Like lightning I drive through a storm with my spear extended. I am a career, it is time I start proving my strength.
