OLYMPIC DIVING TRIALS

    In the heart of District Four the Olympic park already stands gleaming brilliantly within the sun's rays. However, closer to the beach is the large and exquisite Olympic Aquatics Center. Although today marks only the beginning of Olympic Trials the District Four competitors are lucky enough to compete in the actual Olympic Park. Today though all the attention falls on the Aquatic Center Diving Well as the Olympic Trials for Diving are just beginning.

    To compete in this event sign up at the official Panem Olympic Games Sign Ups thread then write at least a paragraph long post in reply to this one. At the bottom of your post include the following dice roll without the *. [*roll range=10-100] This will determine your score overall score. For scoring please note that for example if I rolled a 37 then my final score would be 3.7 out of 10.0. Please do your best to remember to add this decimal in the results are below your roll. Last of all remember this trial is for district four diving athletes only, the other diving trials will take place in their own districts. Good luck!

Rey Taifun

District four revolved around water, and Rey spent her entire life devouring the ocean. Everywhere she turned, her mind was content knowing it was perfect. Yet today it was different. Every second of every single day, Rey trained for a chance to compete in the maze. To prove she was worthy. But today, with the Olympics beginning, her mind was focused on one thing, and one thing only. All she wanted was to do her best. The water was her friend, and diving was the perfect part of the day. Inhaling sharply, Rey made her way to the board. It was time to shine. Her mind raced with many thoughts, and she wanted to become perfect. To show the world that she was more than a pawn. More than a district four citizen with no life. Rey had a life, and she wasn't going to stop until she was on top of the world. One step after another, her eyes closed, and it was time to dive.

Ervin Conosance

    Dawn was just breaking over the sapphire shores as Ervin's feet carried him across the golden shifting sands. Over head the gentle coo of a morning dove flutters like a flute through the morning wind. Normally the song of the dove would be uninterrupted and Ervin would soon be beneath the ocean's brisk surface. However today was not a normal day. Instead everyone was already awake and milling in a single direction, towards the Aquatic Center. Ever since the announcement of the Olympic Games and District Four as its host the District had been in a non-stop rush. Months of construction had now led to this very moment, a moment Ervin was going to be in the grand center of. 

    Cameras flashed in all directions as Ervin entered the bustling center beneath the gleaming Olympic rings. Panem's anthem reached Ervin's ears as he entered the pristine halls. Athletes of all kinds strode rapidly around him as panic undoubtedly controlled their every thought. As for Ervin he wasn't nervous, he had no need to be. Ervin wasn't here to win, hell he wasn't even sure why he was here. All he knew was his family could use the cash if he did do anything special. Yet his chances only seemed to be growing dimmer as he watched the first diver score an impressive 8.6.

    From that point time only accelerated as it boosted Ervin up the diving well stairs and before the crown of wailing fans. Everyone in the entire center was urging him to succeed. The higher the scores each competitor got from District Four the more of us would advance to the actual Olympics. But as Ervin already knew as he took his starting position, he wasn't here for them. He was here for his family and so he dove.

    Ice grips my skin as Ervin slides easily into the water. Bubbles gurgle and burst around Ervin in every which way. My hands all too easily return Ervin to the surface of the pool yet this time a different sound greets his ears. All across the Center roars of applauds echo and leave Ervin utterly shocked. That is until he exits the Diving Well to see his score shining for the entirety of Panem to view. 9.7. The number seems to large to belong to me yet by the frantic people who come racing towards me with cameras I know it must be true. Then I hear a question I know all competitors are dying to be asked. "How does it feel to know you have all but punched your ticket into the Olympics?" And my answer is all too true. "I can't believe it."
