Lorenza aita

    Lorenza had done terribly with the maze. Now, that meant she would have to show what she could do in the next part of her private training session. Nervousness was not allowed to be shown; it must be concealed. Taking her place over by the weaponry, she picked up a bow and arrow. Then, she made her way over to the climbing ropes and made her way up one, bow and arrow in hand. When she reached the top, she prepared herself. Knocking the arrow, she aimed at one of the dummies. When she shot, the projectile lodged itself through the dummy's neck, which would have killed them instantly had it been a real person. Then, she jumped down from the top of the rope and landed on the floor, only stumbling a bit, but ending up on her feet in the end.

    The District One girl returned the bow to the rack and then approached the dummy that had its neck pierced with the arrow. She yanked the arrow out of the false human's neck and brought it over to the fire station. Snapping the arrow in half over her knee, she then managed to light it on fire, using it as the only fuel for the fire. It was rather difficult to work with metal like that, so she felt quite accomplished. Then, taking another arrow and picking up the bow once again, she lit the tip of the arrow on fire.

    Za-Za took aim at the dummy from before and released the arrow into the air. It slammed into the face of the dummy and the mannequin caught fire. Feeling successful, Lorenza grinned. She put the bow away, and then turned to the maze makers. She bowed and exited the room. Surely the training her girlfriend had given her back home had helped.

Pierce Vilamanix

    Sweet success licks at my exposed skin the moment I free myself from the confines of Hell's house. In an instant avoxes rush to me with clothes but I shove them away, I have nothing to hide. Taking center of the center I stand while the Maze Makers drop into their place, I'm pretty sure I hear a few of them gasp. A smile sneak across my cheeks, "I know pretty unbelievable its that big right?" A wink is sent to the sister of the two Head Maze Makers just for a little bit of fun. Time to start what I've been waiting for this entire time, the show. A swift spin and I take a bow before my oh so benevolent Makers before addressing them for the second time. "No need for me to introduce myself for I'm certain my name is well known by your lips. Now I welcome you to my show and I hope you enjoy the view, no payment is required."

    With a confident walk I make my way to the camouflage station and gather a few supplies before heading back center. I take a moment to make a special black mixture and then smile at my audience again. "Now then lets begin shall we? Hot stuff over by the light switch care to shed some darkness for a moment?" Blush flushes the avox's faces as she removes the lights shining around me. Time to begin.

    Swift as a snake I make my way silently stepping to a field of at least fifteen mannequins. In sudden swift movements I cover them all in the black I've created until I'm certain they are indistinguishable from each other. Time for the final piece, I paint myself from head to toe and all between, yes I really do mean all. And take a position in the field of those I've matched myself to. Once set I speak out from my place with my commands for the show to follow my voice. "Now when I'm done talking sugar cakes you can turn on the lights. When she does I want your best trainer to come over to the painted mannequins and find me before I can attack. Good luck. Lights lovely." Light floods the center as my eyes shut in silence.

    I hear footsteps falling closely and I can hear punches hammering each mannequin as its checked, how unamusing. Soon my hunter draws near but little does he know he is the prey. He's only one spot away before I suddenly spur and slide beneath his legs. A shout of surprise rises from above me but I waste no time suddenly sweeping his feet from beneath him. With a thunderous thud he hits the floor and swift as lion I'm upon him, he struggles to move but his attempts are too late I have him pinned completely at my disposal, at my will, just the way I like them. A sinister smile sneaks across my lips, my tongue traces his face as he tries to free himself. "Now, now struggling only excites me." A sudden thrust of my head and into silence he falls, sure it hurt but what do I care I got my point across.

    Calmly I walk back across the room until I'm standing just before those watching my show, I bow again. "Now that and the little maze were only tastes of what I bring to the table. If its excitement you want and a Runner who will stir the crowds then I'm your golden boy. Put your bets on me because I'll be getting sponsors even if you don't. I don't care about the glory or the gore I'll do whatever it takes to put on one hell of a hot show. You need twenty three dead consider it done. May we meet again." I turn and walk out letting them all take in for what surely won't be the last time I'm as exposed fully before them.

OOC: For the public publishing of this, just a note that Pierce threw off all his clothes into his fire mini maze hence why he is naked haha.

Noelle Vangart

    Steps span into centuries into the corn crops dissipate into a distant memory. Heavy breaths berate my lunges as I fall to the floor with the moments I'm given before the Maze Makers' arrival from above. Woefully I watch as the elevator lowers the platform and wait for the last moment to rise from my rest and recovery. As much as it pains me to persevere through this exhaustion I know I must grow use to such strains as the Maze moves ever closer to tomorrow. I throw away the shackles of my mind and remember what truly lies at stake. My family needs me to be strong, to save them from the sorrows Pierce will pile upon him should he be granted success. Even the thought stings my mind. 

    Calmly I pull two mannequins and rest them beside me and a medicine kit at the center of this small stage. I stand staring at those above me with a flail firmly weighted in my arms. "I am Noelle Vangart of District Twelve and I wish to tell you a story today. My story." I shift slightly preparing the weight of the flail to shift at a moment's notice. "My story begins with two parents going to work in the mines where their twelve year old daughter already illegally works as a medic. They both went in and the mine exploded that day because of the stupidity of a man and TNT. Both my parented sustained massive crush injuries from the debris." The flail flies through the air as one after another I slam it against the dummies in all the spots my parents were beaten. I watch again as the red rivers flow from the false skin as though it truly is their own. I set the flail down to my side.

    "Next in our tale is being one of the very, very few medics I had to respond to the crisis. So it was by my own hands that I had to attempt to save my parents with little more than some tissues, tape, and barely enough thread to sew a single stitch. Now I'm sure you can imagine how that went." I press a button on a heart monitor I brought only for this moment. Beeeeeeeeeep. "Yes, both my parents died that day leaving me to Mother three younger siblings. But that's not how this story is going to go. I want you to see what happens when I have the supplies given in a Maze, supplies better than that supplied to an actual District."

    Falling to my knees I work fast and fluid. I reset bones and stop bleeding to massive wounds on my Mom's mannequin. Only minutes go by before I have completely stabilized her and call for an avox who I ordered to have a machine capable of checking the status of the patient. It beeps for several seconds then confirms by own brilliant beliefs. "Patient Stable." My teeth grit. "I knew it." I now turn my attention to my Father. My work on him follows nearly the same route except for him I do have to amputate and stop the bleeding of half of his left arm yet still when the device is attached... "Patient Stable." Again I'm proven right about my theory. I rise from the floor to stare down those who will soon send me off. 

    "This is how the story would have gone if I had the bare bone basic supplies many Runners are given. So what was the point of this story? Simple. I am capable of working miracles and saving lives with little to nothing, given just a few of the first aid items often given in the Mazes I will be able not only to keep myself but my allies in constant top shape. I'm a medic who has more knowledge than any other Runner I can promise you that. Oh and one more thing." I pause as I stare down the two Head Maze Makers directly. "I'm the sole Mother of three siblings, basically my children. If you want to know what maximum motivation to survive is, you're looking at it. I'm not going anywhere without one hell of a fight. Thank you for your time." I turn and walk away with nothing but my hope to hold me up now.

Marrick Cystalis

    What do you do when you have nothing to show? Each second they descend the deeper into darkness I plunge. Already before even beginning I can see some of them talking, barely paying attention. I'm pretty sure one of the Head Maze Makers is heading over the the liquor area instead of watching how miserably I'll fail. Maybe that's a good thing, maybe its better with nobody watching. Maybe this is how I'm suppose to be presented, how I'm supposed to die, not with a bang but with a whimper like that one poem I read back in school. Perhaps all this time I've simply been a boy unequipped to deal with world around him. I stand for what must be a total minute not a sound or a word, just nothing... I have to do something. 

    Fingers wrap around a bunch of rope which I quickly tie into a lasso, now what? I scan the center for anything I can use to make myself seem anything less than use less. I get an idea and tie several more lassos before grabbing a knife as well. What I'm about to do is something I used to do back with Dad on the farm. Whenever the trees were close enough and tough enough they always made for such great playgrounds, I'll just treat this like another playground back with Dad. 

    Slowly I climb to the top of the obstacle course and nearly fall over from fright, talk about being high up. To my right I still see a select few waiting for anything to happen, I guess their wait is over. Spinning one lasso I hurl it with as much accuracy as I've had burnt into my brain and watch it latch itself onto one of the many ceiling rods, now to get over the fear holding me back. Screw it, I leap and let my body soar through the air. Almost ten seconds go by before I am throwing another lasso and transferring to that rope as though swinging like a monkey in a jungle. I'm not sure how impressive it is all I know is I'm flying fast and high. 

    When my last transfer is finished I feel myself flying faster than I've ever gone before making this dismount harder than I expected. Oh well, I prepare to let go when my hands slip for a second and I nearly plummet to the floor. Talk about almost dying before being given the chance to fight. I put it behind me because I'm out of time. Like an animal I leap from my rope and descend at insane speed towards a mannequin waiting below. Oh god please don't miss. I slam into its body thrusting my knife deep into its chest. Although dead me and my target definently roll several yards before we stop and I take a moment to just stop in pain. It could have been worse I guess. I look up to the stage one last time before quickly leaving my jungle gym without another word.

District One

I wasn't nervous when I'd first entered the maze. When I came out of it, however, I was internally terrified. I had been doing so well, but I blew it all when I hit a few dead ends and slowed down on the last stretch of it all. How could I have done that? How could I have let myself be so pathetic? Surely my career training would have helped me do better than that, right? Apparently not.

When I exited the maze, I tried not to look too frustrated. I had to do well, no matter what. Using what I learned back in District One was the only thing that would bring me any sort of advantage. I'd been training for years, so surely it would come to be at least the slightest bit useful. Not letting myself think too long, I knew I had to get moving. Leaving the Maze Makers waiting was not a good idea. Therefore, I went to get started.

Approaching the weaponry area, I knew I had to be clever. Simple attacks on the mannequins in the room wouldn't do me any good. I knew that they would have seen that before, possibly even with the runner that went before me; my District partner, Lorenza. This meant I had to be different to stand out. I grabbed a knife off of the table, being sure that it was the dullest one I could find. Then, I took one of the mannequins, brought it to the center of the room with me, and laid it down on the floor.

I approached the mannequin that was laid out on the floor, and straddled it. Then, I took the dull knife that was in my hand and drove it into the top of the fake human's neck. A dull knife was harder to work with, so it took more force. Although, this also meant that, if it were a real person, they would feel more pain. Dragging the knife from the top of the dummy's neck all the way down the center of it until I reached the middle of the chest, I then yanked the knife out. Tossing the knife off to the side, I steadied myself over top of the mannequin.

Putting each of my hands into the gash that ran down the mannequin's front side, I pried it open using all of my strength. Sure, it would be harder if it were a real human, but ripping a person open should impress the Maze Makers nonetheless. As I opened up the neck and chest of the faux human target, I yanked some of the stuffing out, and with it still in my fist, stood up, bowed, and exited the room.

Salem Fysco

    Sweat spills from my skin as my body slides over the safety of the finish line. A sinister smile fills my face as success from my magic has granted me a great time. I've surely been putting on a show for the Maze Makers. While an offered towel takes away the water willing itself from my pores I watch them descend from on high. Their station spins then stops in its new viewing area, their eyes are all on me. Before I take a moment to make the proper greeting arrangements I spot each pair of piercing eyes to see what secrets they can show. They're all on me, that means they are all impressed by what they've seen so far. A new stronger smile splits my skin as I walk forward to face those who will ultimately decide who will die early on and who will be given the golden chance at sweet salvation. 

    "District Nine, Salem Fysco at your service." My words follow a small bow as I return to see their faces once more illuminated beneath the kiss of light. "I ask that you bare with me for the first five minutes as they will solely be used for preparation, if you trust me and wait you'll be given quite the spectacle." I turn my back and embrace the stage known as the center. 

    As fast as my feet allow I move to each station acquiring every agent I need to create my concoction. Once this critical step is completed I sit down on the floor in full view of my spectators. One by one pieces of rock and bits of brilliant elements enter a bowl constantly being grounded by my mixing hand. I allow my voice to add some interest to the dark dust I am creating for my Maze Makers' enjoyment. "What I'm making is a spell I've mastered using very simple to find ingredients meaning I'll more than likely use it in the Maze no matter what its environment." After grinding the last granule down to dust I present the bowl filled with fine black powder. 

    Swift speed swings my steps as elegant angles release the powder from my palms. In a mere minute a symbol of circle with a line through it is forged and I set the bowl away. "This is the symbol I will use to cast the spell using these not only to conjure it but control it." On the word these I present two rods of supple metals I've molded into rods for each of my hands. With great care I enter the circle and stand at its center just off the line travelling through it. "Now as I asked you've patiently waited while I prepared but the preparation is over I hope you thoroughly enjoy this presentation of my abilities. Avoxes set the mannequins please." 

    In various locations throughout the center a total of ten mannequins find their standing points, one even stands atop the greatest ledge of the obstacle course. Excellent. My eyes flash with hell fire as my words echo again through the center, "Lights!" The center crawls into complete darkness leaving only my whispers to fill the air. "Hoc postulat meam igni!" I slam the rods together and watch as the sparks spiral towards the floor. The spell has begun.

    Flames of a fierce red ignite each place where the dust once sat creating the exact symbol I supplied in a glorious hell fire. Now is time for the truly impressive part. Using the rods I connect the fire to their ends creating no longer a symbol upon the floor but too long sabers of fire with little ends of flames as though whips of my creation. I run through the dark letting the flames fiercely dazzle those watching such danger unfold from above. This is the power of Salem Fysco. 

    My arms shift in a sudden surge as I throw flames from the sabers in small waves to hit the mannequins I hunt in the dark, in my best element. One after another I ignite the mannequins until only the one atop the highest apex remains. I send both rods flying through the air until they land upon the ledge where the victim rests. Moments later the mannequin is ablaze and ten fires ferociously burn around me, a complete success. A smile greets the lights that turn on and laughter as I watch the avoxes tend to the fires. My attention turns back to my audience, "This is what you can expect from a little thirteen year old from District Nine. Thank you."

    Please Note: He only believes he has magic but he doesn't. Basically everything he did is chemistry, elements for the dust and specific metals which allow him to safely use the fire. Its just his mind that makes him believe he is a wizard.

The day is nearly over, and yet Lail dreads the rest of the sessions. Sure some of these low life runners are amazing, but it's past time for dinner. A roast duck sets quietly in the lounge, and the mazemaker wants to get his hands on it. Not to mention the liquor sitting in his fridge. But time still had to go by for the runners waiting to show off.

This time, the runner is Salem Fysco of district nine.

Speed is on his side, and Lail wants to know if Salem is capable of making his way through the actual maze with such accuracy. But it’s the skills session that catches the mazemaker completely off guard. For one, this is a strange teen. Making the mazemaker wait while he prepares for the show. Lail rolls his eyes wishing the kid would just hurry up and get on with it. It’s boring, and he found himself yawning. What kind of madness is this? Nothing magic about this exists. It’s simply a fire. Flint and steel used to created a spark, and the dust turned to flames. But Lail couldn’t help but wonder if anything is wrong with thirteen year old from nine.

Lail couldn't help but glare at this teen wondering what's happening. From one step after another, it's simply amazing, but at the same time it's the same thing over and over. Fire only goes so far, and yet Lail doesn't even care that the gym is destroyed.

Yes Salem is young, and yes he has the talent of creating fire and explosions, but Lail wanted to see more. Show him something he hasn't seen before. Fire is such a powerful thing and when it's used correctly, it can actually work wonders.

After he left, Lail turns towards his sister once more sighing; “Well that’s one strange kid.” He placed his head in his hands; “Being that loud in the maze, though, can be deadly. And what kind of madness is this? Okay, he can start a fire. Okay he can shout fictional words. But what can a fire do in the maze except maybe burn it down?” He sighs softly wondering what to do. Part of him is telling him to write a one, but every runner deserves a chance. “I give him a four. It’s boring. Very, very boring. What do you think?”

“He thinks he’s a wizard, that’s cute… But he destroyed my Training Center with his fire-making abilities. A five for the show? He’s just a kid, you have to give him that.” She replies, and Lail feels his heart drop.

“Fine. A five it is.” He sighs, Layla’s right, he is just a kid after all. But what the devil is a wizard going to do inside Lail's maze that he created? Nothing. A five isn't even worth his time. Maybe it'll offer a chance, something Lail yearns to see. He might have high hopes for the kid, but they'll soon be squashed. Lail will squash them all like a dream.

[Lail writes down a 5 on Salem's private training session card and a 9 for his mini maze card giving him a 7 over all.]

Dragon had gotten clapping from the maze makers upon exiting the mini maze, which was certainly a good thing. This just meant that he had to continue to impress them the best that he possibly could. He was small, but he was also smart and strong. He didn't give up easily, and surely, he thought, he could come up with something creative enough to impress them. This meant that he was going to be a tad bit adventurous with his Private Training Session.

The young boy made his way over to grab a sword, and then proceeded to go over to the rock climbing wall. With one free hand and a sword in the other, he made his way to the top. Then, he jumped from the top, sword in hand, and landed on his feet, immediately going into a run with the sword pointed forward. He ran straight towards a mannequin, and the sword, with all the boy's momentum, was able to go all the way through the stomach of the mannequin and knock it to the ground. He yanked the sword out, threw it to the side, and turned to the maze makers. With a satisfied smile on his face, he bowed, then proceeding to exit the room.

Deities

    I was furious. I'd been doing so well with the maze, only to screw it all up at the end. How was I supposed to get anywhere at all without getting through the maze successfully? This was what being a runner was all about! I wouldn't have volunteered had I thought I was incapable of success.

I tore out of the maze in rage, immediately running over to a mannequin, tackling it to the ground. I punched it in the face repeatedly. When I stood up, I let my anger continue to take over, and I kicked it hard enough in the chest that I would have broken its rib cage if it were a real person. Then, for one last move, I stomped on its face. It caved in, and I looked up to the maze makers, fists clenched. I proceeded to exit the room in frustration.

Deities

    Horus was thoroughly frustrated with himself. Gods weren't supposed to fail. He'd done so well to start, only to go downhill from there. Horus had always seen himself as a deity, and that meant he was supposed to be powerful and impressive. If he wasn't smart enough or agile enough to get through the maze, he'd have to prove his other skills. This was the time to do that.

    Weaponry, however, wasn't what he went for to start with. Horus made his way over to the camouflage station and got to work. Crushing and mixing berries to make just the right combination, he created a variety of colors to camouflage his hand to the very complex pattern that was a pile of leaves. Sure, his camouflage may have been successful, but he knew he had to do more, now. Not bothering to clean off his hand, he continued over to another station.

    Firemaking was something a God would clearly be talented at. Therefore, Horus had to be, too. (Luckily, he'd done a bit of practice in this aspect). When he got over to the firemaking station, he quickly crafted a small fire that began to build when he walked away from it to retrieve what he needed. He'd gotten a knife, coated it with tar, and lit it with his fire. Not bothering to put out his fire, he then threw the knife into a dummy where it hit its stomach. It wasn't quite what he was trying to do, but it worked, nonetheless.
