Female {16} District Eleven
Growing up in a wealthy family in District Eleven has shown to be very beneficial. Most people in the District are quite poor, so my family helps them out. Not only do we have enough to care for ourselves, but we have enough to help some of the others as well. It's something I really enjoy doing, too. I've always been the helpful sort, as I find pleasure in assisting those who need it. That's just how I've been my entire life. I think of it as a good thing, but other people tell me that I don't care for myself enough, which I suppose is true.
I've never been very self-confident. I feel that if I were to be selected for the Maze, it's likely that I would be one of the first ones dead because of not wanting to hurt someone else unless they hurt me or someone I care about first. I don't like to initiate fights. I'm not a complete pacifist, but I still don't like conflict. My best friends are always telling me that they would volunteer for me if I wanted them to, but I tell them not to. I couldn't lose a friend, especially in place of myself. I've made all of my friends promise to never take my place.
Many people describe me as a very pretty girl. I don't like to flaunt it, but I do feel that my appearance is one of my better traits. I really appreciate receiving compliments, so it makes my day when people give them to me. I work very hard to look my best, and judging by what people say to me, it pays off. I hope that I never have to face the Maze, but should the day come, at least I'll look good in front of the crowds at the reaping.
