The trainer stood serious watching the small red haired youth before him. It became highly obvious how in need of these skills she would be. He holds up his small false sword against her's. Before attacking he asks a question. "How long do you have to strike your opponent again before its too late?"

When asked by the trainer how long I'd have to strike my opponent before it was too late, I crafted up an answer in my head. It didn't take long for me, either. This was simple. One couldn't wait too long if they wanted to survive.

"Mere seconds," I told him.

A slight stream of air loosed from the Trainer's mouth at her answer. He was looking for before the opponent strikes back, but he was willing to give her the answer for the moment. "Sometimes, or it can be mere mili seconds. No two opponents are the same." He turns to her suddenly swinging to blatantly miss just barely off her left side under her arm. "If I wanted to strike now and make up for my miss which direction should I go to be most effective? Up, Right, or Down?"

The trainer continued on by swinging the false sword at me. I was then asked what he should do next if he wanted to hit me after missing, and I paused only for a moment before giving him an answer with an explanation.

"I'd say you should swing up. It's the best way to ensure that you still make contact, even if it's just with the target's hand."
