Her fingers flick over the screen as she begins the boy's assessment. She isn't all too fond of District Twelves but the last two did show promise so maybe he did as well.

Plants wasn't his strong point, and honestly, it was one of the last things Chaske wanted to learn. But he needed food. He needed the chance to grow stronger in the midst of the entire maze. His mother said he was a failure, and he wanted to prove that he wasn't. The lady didn't even talk to him, but what difference did it make when he was probably going to die soon anyway. His entire life had been one huge mistake - maybe this was his chance to prove he was worth more than anyone ever gave him credit for.
