Appearance:

Iapitus (Ia) is a very handsome and young man. He has very tan skin from spending all of his time in the sun. But that's not the first thing that people notice about him. He has a dazzling smile. It's bright and white as anything and it spans big and wide for everyone to see. It makes everyone happier when they see it and it stands out so much because of his tan skin. Along with tan skin and a shining smile, Ia also has windswept hair that he doesn't do anything to to keep it from looking messy. Aside from drying it off after a dip, he leaves it alone. His hair consists of mostly light brown, but with some sun bleached blonde streaks scattered within.

His brown/hazel eyes hide behind all of this though. They seem to be there just to reflect emotion, and nothing else. More often than not they're just blank, you can't tell what he's thinking, but sometimes they change to convey happiness or hatred. Ia also has a slim, toned, and fit body. This comes from not only Career training, but also from swimming constantly. He keep his fat down and he's almost purely muscle. Though he's thin enough so that it doesn't show beneath clothes, when he's taking a dip it's all but present. Ia also has some big hands and feet that help to not only swim faster, but also to carry things more easily in the water, which is what he does for his job.

Personality:

Ia's personality is a very intricate one. He absolutely loves water. He's almost addicted. Every moment he's not training for being a Career tribute he's spending in the water. Ia is a very advanced swimmer and can even hold his breath for up to a minute! Ia also enjoys being somewhat of a lifeguard for the children of the district, though he'd rather do many other things, he does like to do that once in a while. This tendency comes from his compassionate and caring personality. Although this has mostly been crushed by his instructors, he still reverts to it every once in a while without knowing. He usually doesn't feel this way about anything but family.

Ia, to oppose his occasionally warm self, is normally bloodthirsty and cold. He spends almost every single minute thinking of the Hunger Games and how he will prepare for them. This drives him to work out outside of training, which brings us to his persistence and determination. He will go to any lengths to get what he wants and any lengths means exactly that. He only has one or two good friends because of this personality. But that quirk is present in most Career children, so he can't exactly be blamed for that. This does bring him to love duking it out and a pretty aggressive personality. But he's normally only aggressive around people he hasn't met before and the people he doesn't like.

One thing that comes along with Iapitus's aggressive nature is a very protective one. If he's attached to someone or something he'll defend it at all costs. He would do anything for his family and his friends. But you can probably guess that he does take this to extremes quite often, though. He one time tossed one of his younger sister's friends across the room because she insulted her. To be fair Ia had just gotten in a fight with his father, which put him in an already sour mood. Which brings us to Ia's tendency to have a short temper. The strangest thing about his though is that he gives no warning that he's bothered at all and then just suddenly snaps. But Ia cannot stand insults or people standing up to him and he takes measures to fix that to the extreme.

One thing that seems to be a misfit in all of the this sea of aggression in his mind, Ia is very skilled in making good first impressions. It's after you get to know him that he finally starts to be about blood and gore and fighting. He's very friendly to his elders, but at the same time he has that arrogant kind of glow about him which makes kids his age and younger a little scared of him. He does tend to be a little menacing at first, but he then makes his good impression and then seems to abuse it more often than not. Though throughout of these personality quirks and points, he is not ruthless.

History:

Ia's family is quite a small family for living in District Four. He has his mother (Tria), his father (Physh), and his younger sister (Floe). Ia's father is almost exactly like his son personality wise, which causes Ia and his father to butt heads a lot. The thing that people would never get is that Ia's father is white as a ghost, or at least compared to the other residents of the district. For some reason, Physh's skin built up a resistance to the sun and stopped tanning. Physh also has blonde hair, which he passes down to his daughter. Floe is eight years old and she has blonde hair, tan skin, and is pretty muscular for an eight year old girl. But, to be fair, she is training to be a Career tribute. Floe's demeanor is much like her brother's except for the fact that she is much more friendly than he. Tria is the one who passes down her looks to her son and daughter. Tria is a tan, tall, woman who has light brown hair down to her mid-back. She on the other hand, is a very kind and peaceful woman. She used to be fiery and aggressive until she was unable to be Reaped anymore and realized that she was a fool to want to be in those Games. She from then on dedicated her life to being as peaceful as possible.

Ia's family also happens to be one of the wealthier families in the district. They had never felt competitive about their wealth until Physh's rival from childhood was found to be just as rich. From then on the Aura's always kept themselves and their children away from the Algirdas'. This family happen to have a boy the same age as Ia's. His name is Hammil. They've been enemies since they could train. One was always topping the other in once competition or another. They'd even gotten into into some fist fights before. The two families have never met at common ground.

When Ia was a young boy he would constantly want to bounce and play around. He loved the water just as much as ever and he even almost drowned in it once. He was caught in an undercurrent and his father had to go out and save him, just barely making it himself. They banned Ia from going in the water until he started training and when training started, he would wow the trainers with his swimming capabilities. Ia also loved to cause trouble for his trainers. He would always try to sneak up on them or throw things at them without them knowing. He stopped after one particularly strict trainer caught him and made him spar with him until Ia was barely able to tolerate it anymore.

Ia also has a job as a fisherman. This is a job that he took up with great zeal for he loves swimming and he loves nets and tridents. He typically doesn't kill the fish, he's more the one who nets fish and sometimes when it's needed he swims beneath the surface to haul up the lobster traps when there are problems with the equipment. This is Ia's favorite job and he believes that it is his calling.
